Tina Knowles Clarified Her “Liking” of a Comment Regarding Jay-Z’s Rape Accusations, Stating That it Was Not Intentional

In a Tuesday episode of The Run-Through With Vogue podcast, Tina Knowles discussed her social media hiccup where it appeared she liked a post shared by ABC 7 Chicago, earlier last month, about allegations that her son-in-law, Jay-Z, and Sean “Diddy” Combs sexually assaulted an unnamed 13-year-old girl in 2000.

The next day the ‘like’ was gone as the 70-year-old informed her followers that she had been hacked, adding, “As you all know I do not play about my family. So if you see something uncharacteristic of me. Just know that it is not me!”

Knowles explained that just because she appeared to like a negative post about her son in law,  doesn’t mean she did it intentionallly.

“It’s so funny because you know how many times I’ve liked something that was negative about my own children?” Knowles said.

She continued on by saying, “Because if I’m busy and I’m going through the thing, I’m like, ‘Oh, there’s Beyoncé with so and so.’ I like that. And then the fans come back and say, ‘Miss Tina, please erase that because you’re liking some negative post.’ I mean, that’s what happens to 70-year-olds on social media. It’s true.”

Knowles also shared, in general, that as a mother she doesn’t play about her children and feel the need to respond to the lies made about them, even though they tell her to ignore it.

She didn’t addressed the allegations regarding Jay-Z, but did shared some social media etiquette advice her son in law has given her, advising her to spell her words, correctly, due to her using voice to text on her Instagram page which doesn’t pick up her words due to her southern accent.

Tina’s oldest grand daughter, Blue Ivy, also gives her social media advice.

“Every once in a while, I’ll get a call from Blue, and she’ll say, ‘Grandma, that’s really whack what you just did. That’s really whack. You should delete that,’ ” she said of her 12-year/old granddaughter.

“I’m like, ‘Girl, I’m on to the next thing.’ And all of the comments are like, ‘There you go again, Miss Tina.,’” she said.
