Kanye West’s X Account Goes Dark Following a Series Rants and Controversial Tweets

Kanye West’s X account has been deactivated following a series of antisemitic, misogynistic, and other controversial posts.  West, also known as Ye, has a reputation for tweeting controversial and antisemitic posts on the platform.

Ye was recently criticized for mocking Cassie’s domestic violence situation involving Diddy from the hotel, attacking the Jewish community, making a sexually inappropriate tweet against former VP Kamala Harris, accusing Taylor Swift of taking a Black man down by singing on TV, saying Kendrick Lamar and he are being used by the Jewish and White communities, and urging Kendrick Lamar to scream “Free Puff” during his Super Bowl performance.

X owner Elon Musk unfollowed Ye and classified his account as “NSFW,” (Not Rated Safe for Work). Ye later deleted his account, and no past posts are visible.

The 47-year-old tweeted the following message before his account went dark:

“I’m logging out of Twitter. I appreciate Elon for allowing me to vent. It has been very cathartic to use the world as a sounding board. It was like an Ayahuasca trip. Love all of you who gave me your energy and attention. To we connect again Good afternoon and goodnight”.

It is not clear whether Ye was banned or his account was deleted from X.

Ye has a history of offensive comments, including praise of Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. He was criticized for wearing a “White Lives Matter” T-shirt during Paris Fashion Week, suggesting that slavery was a choice, saying COVID was the mark of the beast, and tweeting threats to Jewish people.

In 2022, antisemitic posts led to his ban from Twitter (now X) and Instagram. In 2023, he reactivated his X account.
