A Durham, North Carolina jury has ordered TikTok influencer Brenay Kennard to pay $1.75 million to the ex-wife of her current husband and manager after finding her liable for destroying the couple’s marriage.
The civil suit, filed by Akira Montague, accused Kennard of having an affair with her husband and manager, Tim Montague. Jurors found Kennard guilty of criminal conversation and alienation of affection — a rare North Carolina law that allows a spouse to sue someone for breaking up their marriage.

Akira, who married Tim in 2018, said the affair caused her “mental anguish,” harmed her health, and deprived their children of a two-parent home, according to WRAL. Her attorney, Robonetta Jones, said, “She has received justice from losing her husband and the father of her children.”

Kennard denied the claims, arguing that Akira “gave her consent” and that the marriage “was already over.”
Tim Montague has since left his wife for Kennard.
Kennard boasts nearly 3 million TikTok followers and 275,000 followers on Instagram.
