Actor James Ransone, widely recognized for his portrayal of Ziggy Sobotka on HBO’s The Wire and Eddie Kaspbrak in It: Chapter Two, has died at the age of 46. According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, Ransone’s death on Friday, December 19, 2025, was ruled an apparent suicide.
The Los Angeles Police Department reported that no foul play is suspected. Over the course of his career, Ransone delivered memorable performances across film and television, with credits including The Black Phone, Sinister, Generation Kill, and Poker Face.
