Golden State Warriors star, Stephen Curry, is helping open doors for the next generation.
The Four-time NBA Champion and two-time MVP is teaming up with his alma mater, Davidson College, along with College Track, and Oakland Unified School District to launch the Davidson College Curry Scholars Program. The scholarship program is a full scholarship opportunity for high-achieving students from underserved Bay Area communities.
Beginning with the Fall 2027 class, 5–10 students each year will receive the scholarship covering: Tuition & fees, Housing & meals, Books & computer allowance, college tour trip to the university in April, and college & career coaching support
The program is backed by Stephen and Ayesha Curry’s Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation, which continues to invest in Oakland youth through education, nutrition, and safe opportunities to thrive.
According to the university press release, applications and financial aid information are due Sept. 21st, with in-person selections taking place in Oakland on Oct. 20th.
The scholarship aims to help first-generation students earn college degrees and create lasting opportunities for their futures.
