A 84-year-old Florida man is facing multiple felony charges after authorities say he set his ex-girlfriend on fire while inside a vehicle following the end of their 42-year relationship.
According to investigators, Franklin Davis, who was allegedly under the influence, poured gasoline throughout the vehicle during an argument outside a 7-Eleven in before igniting it while the woman was still inside. The victim suffered third-degree burns to her leg, while Davis also sustained burn injuries.
Davis has been charged with premeditated attempted murder, arson causing bodily harm, and other related offenses. A judge denied bond, and he remains in the Broward County Jail. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 14th.
