Commentators on social media are drawing comparisons between Brown’s latest video and Druski’s recent CTE-themed football skit, which was released on August 26. Some commenters even posted GIFs and images from the skit, with one commentator saying, “Druski’s skit is really about you.” Others expressed sympathy for AB, saying they feel bad for him.
For context, on January 9, 2016, during a playoff game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals, Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict delivered a hit to Brown’s head in the final minute of the game. Brown was subsequently placed in the NFL’s concussion protocol.
Over the years, some people online have speculated about whether Brown’s later erratic behavior could be connected to brain trauma. However, there is no confirmed public diagnosis establishing that Brown has CTE, and behavior alone cannot determine whether someone has the disease.
Druski’s viral skit, captioned “Athletes Get Concussions & Lose Their Minds,” portrays a fictional football player dealing with the aftermath of repeated head injuries and has sparked plenty of debate online.
Now, AB’s latest post has some people revisiting Druski’s fictional character and suggesting that the skit may have hit a little too close to home.
