Mother of Crash Victim’s Children Defends Keith Lee Amid Backlash Over Wrong-Way Crash Testimony

The mother of the victim’s children from the wrong-way crash is speaking out amid online backlash toward food critic Keith Lee following his testimony about surviving a tragic crash in Duncanville, Texas.

In a TikTok post dedicated to the victim (Kenan Ellis), the person who goes by the name Chinney tagged Lee and asked negative commenters to stop blaming and bashing him, saying she believes the criticism is unfair.

“As a family, we know there was no malicious intent behind what was said,” she wrote. “I tagged him because stop bashing and placing the blame on him! That’s not fair.”

She also shared the heartbreaking impact of the crash on her children, writing that the wrong-way driver took the life of their father, while also injuring two others.

“Our family is devastated by this heartbreaking loss. My children are hurting and struggling to understand why their father was taken from them.”

Lee previously shared his account of the Sept. 3rd crash, saying he saw headlights coming directly toward his vehicle while driving with his wife and children. He credited God with protecting his family and described the experience as a near-death experience. He also sent his condolences to the victim’s family following their tragic loss. The video is now deleted.

His comments sparked an online debate, with some critics questioning his decision to praise God for protecting his family when another person lost their life. Others defended Lee, saying he was simply expressing his personal faith and gratitude after surviving a traumatic experience.

She also asked for continued prayers and support for her family as they navigate the devastating loss. The victim’s family has set up a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for urgent expenses and to support his children. As of today, $11,621 out of $15,000 was raised.
