Houston Influencers Reflect on the Crash and Share Health Updates After an SUV Plowed Through a Restaurant Window During their Food Review Taping

Houston influencers Patrick Blackwood and Nina Santiago are recovering from minor injuries after a frightening incident that went viral earlier this month. The pair were filming a food review at CuVee’s Culinary Creations in Houston, Texas, when an SUV suddenly crashed through the restaurant’s front window near their booth.

The crash happened on August 16th, just moments after Blackwood and Santiago took a bite of their meals on camera. The impact sent shattered glass flying across their table. Blackwood, who was seated closest to the window, and Santiago were both struck by the debris. Startled and injured, the two quickly scrambled out of the booth and moved to safety.

Following the incident, the influencers took to Instagram to update their followers and reflect on the near-tragic accident. Both expressed gratitude for surviving and emphasized that they were not taking life for granted. Santiago revealed she has been experiencing migraines, headaches, nausea, muscle spasms, body soreness, tightness, and difficulty moving around. Blackwood reported similar symptoms, including headaches, muscle spasms, tightness, and overall body soreness.

Days later, the duo sat down with Chef Ivory Watkins, owner of CuVee’s Culinary Creations, to share their side of the story in an interview with Sharron Melton of Houston’s CW39 News. They recounted the terrifying moments and pointed out that the driver never offered them an apology.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the female driver told authorities she believed her car was in park. However, when she lifted her foot off the brake, the SUV rolled forward into the restaurant, as reported by NBC News.

Blackwood and Santiago, though still recovering, continue to share updates with their supporters online — a reminder of how quickly life can change in an instant.
