At least one person was killed and nine others were wounded Sunday morning (September 28) when a gunman launched a deadly attack at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc, a suburb of Flint about an hour north of Detroit.
Authorities say the suspect rammed a vehicle through the church entrance during a packed service before opening fire. Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson confirmed the attacker, whose identity has not yet been released, was fatally shot by responding officers and is no longer a threat.

After the shooting began, investigators say the gunman deliberately set the church ablaze, triggering a massive fire that has hindered rescue operations. Swanson noted that officials fear additional victims could be found once it is safe to re-enter the building.
President Donald Trump condemned the incident, describing it as a targeted attack on Christians. He urged the nation to pray for the victims and their families, while calling for an immediate end to what he labeled an epidemic of violence in the United States. The investigation remains ongoing.
