Assistant Prosecutor Details Allegations Against Former Michigan Coach Sherrone Moore

Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Kati Rezmierski outlined the case against former Michigan football head coach, Sherrone Moore, during his initial court appearance on Friday, December 12th.

According to prosecutors, Moore was taken into custody after allegedly entering the home of a female staff member without permission. Rezmierski told the court that Moore and the woman had an “inappropriate relationship”, and that the alleged incident occurred shortly after Moore’s abrupt departure from the Michigan football program on December 11, 2025.

During the hearing, Rezmierski described Moore’s alleged behavior as “terrorizing” the victim. Prosecutors claim Moore entered the residence uninvited, engaged in an argument, and made threats of self-harm using kitchen knives and scissors. The court heard allegations that Moore made statements such as, “I’m going to kill myself,” “I’m going to make you watch,” “my blood is on your hands,” and “you ruined my life.”

Moore faces three charges: 1) Third-degree felony home invasion; 2) Stalking in a domestic relationship; and 3) Breaking and entering.

Rezmierski argued that Moore poses a danger to both the alleged victim and the public, a claim that was disputed by Moore’s defense attorney.

Moore appeared before the judge virtually and was later released on a $25,000 bond. As part of his bond conditions, the judge issued a no-contact order with the alleged victim and prohibited Moore from possessing any weapons, including firearms. He was also ordered to refrain from substance useand to continue undergoing a mental health evaluation while the case remains pending.

Moore’s next court date is scheduled for January 22, 2026.
