Vidro later told police he used his firearm because he feared for his life, according to the arrest report. However, Padgett’s girlfriend said she was riding in the delivery truck when Vidro allegedly pulled alongside them and attempted to provoke a confrontation.

Family, friends, and community members continue mourning Padgett while honoring his memory and legacy.
