A Mecklenburg County, NC judge ruled in favor of the plaintiff, Green Acres, Inc. on June 18th that resulted in the eviction of Prophet Brian Carn’s Charlotte’s church. Kingdom City Church’s Brookshire Blvd. location, closed effective July 14th, according to the Judgement in Action for Summary Ejectment court document, obtained and reviewed by The Exclusive Press (EP).
The complaint summary of ejection was filed on April 10th due to non- payment. At the time Carn owed $58,951.50, which included 4 months in rent plus late fees.
Carn was served on April 22nd, but his attorney, Dovid Carlos Attorney at Law, had submitted a request, which was filed on April 30th (reviewed by The EP), to push the court date to August 5, 2026. According to the NC court hearing review for Mecklenburg District Court, the date was canceled, with the court date scheduled for June 18th. No reason was specified for the date cancellation.
The plaintiff and its attorney were present, but Carn and his attorney failed to appear in court. The court document from June 18, 2026, states that the plaintiff hasn’t received payment since January 2026, which was paid towards the tenant’s unpaid balance for December 2025. The tenant’s rent increases to $14,500 per month according to the lease, which was effective for June 1, 2016, but the plaintiff decided to keep the rent at a lower monthly rate of $13,500. The WRIT of possession took effect on June 18th for the 3409 and 3413 Bookshire Blvd. properties once occupied by KCC.
Kingdom City Church released a statement on July 16th to officially announce the location closure, stating they are grateful for the years served ministering there.

The statement outlines the ongoing facility challenges, noting that many issues remained unresolved and neglected by the property manager, despite the KCC community’s continued efforts to address them; this situation led to the decision to withhold rent payments in 2026 due to the church’s repeated assumption of responsibility for covering costly repairs.
“Following that decision, the property owner elected to require all tenants, including Kingdom City Church and the other businesses on the property, to vacate the premises,” as specified in the statement.

The news comes in the aftermath of him pleading guilty for obstructing the IRS’s efforts to collect more than $600,000 in unpaid taxes, with him being set to serve a nine-month prison sentence on August 14th, 2026, according to the court document from the United States District Court Middle District of Florida, which was obtained by the Saint James Show.
Carn remains hopeful and is looking for another worship location in Charlotte as specified in the church’s statement. Today Carn held worship services at the Sheraton Charlotte Airport Hotel, until a permanent location is secure.
