Philadelphia Police Identify Man Accused of Terrorizing People While Wearing ‘Chucky-Style’ Mask

Philadelphia police have identified 22-year-old Zymire Hughes as the suspect accused of terrorizing multiple people in Center City while wearing a baby-doll Chucky-like mask.

Authorities say Hughes allegedly approached approximately 16 people on August 12th. Police received a report from a 40-year-old female jogger who claimed that Hughes chased her while asking, “Are you ready to die?” She reportedly suffered a severe leg injury while trying to escape.

Police say Hughes, who has a warrant out for his arrest, may have fled the state and has ties to California and Nevada. Authorities are working with the U.S. Marshals to locate him.

Hughes is wanted on charges that include terroristic threats, harassment, simple assault, reckless endangerment, and intimidation. Police are urging anyone who may have been victimized or knows his whereabouts to come forward.
