The Durag Festival, the most creative Juneteenth festival in the South, is only a few days away! Can you believe it?! Get ready to soak up the amazing vibes at this epic celebration!
This year’s theme is all about celebrating the incredible legacy of historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs)!
Known as the “unofficial Met Gala of Durags,” for its high-style creative attire, the festival got an incredible lineup of music, stunning art installations, the ultimate fashion show experience, a spades tournament, creating the ultimate fun experience.
You won’t want to miss the amazing vendors and delicious food from Black-owned businesses that will be on-site. It’s the perfect opportunity to shop local and indulge in some seriously good eats!
The festival will also feature a live pitch competition “Pop Out & Pitch,” with $1,000 grants up for grabs for an Black innovators whose a students or recent grads from an HBCU.

“Durag Fest” derives its name from the durag, a head covering traditionally worn in the Black community, to protect and style hair. The festival celebrates Black culture and creativity, with the durag symbolizing protection, and strength in the Black community.”
The proceeds from the festival will go to the amazing DuGhood Foundation! This incredible nonprofit is all about empowering our youth through creativity and innovation. Making a difference together!
