Rap duo Clipse, brothers Pusha T and No Malice, made history on September 13, 2025, when they became the first rappers ever to perform a live rap set at the Vatican. The groundbreaking moment took place during the Grace for the World concert at St. Peter’s Square, part of the World Meeting on Human Fraternity.
Joined by John Legend and the gospel choir Voices of Fire, Clipse delivered a powerful performance of “The Birds Don’t Sing” from their 2025 comeback album Let God Sort Em Out. Their set blended hip-hop with gospel and soul, underscoring the concert’s mission to promote peace, unity, and brotherhood across cultures and faiths.

The historic event was co-directed by Pharrell Williams and Andrea Bocelli, who curated a lineup that reflected both diversity and shared humanity. Alongside Clipse and Legend, the stage featured world-class talent including Jennifer Hudson, Jelly Roll, and many others, drawing a massive audience of over 250,000 in Vatican City.
For Clipse, who have long balanced raw storytelling with spiritual themes, the Vatican performance marked not only a milestone in their career but also a symbolic bridging of hip-hop with one of the most revered religious and cultural spaces in the world.
The Grace for the World concert stood as a reminder of music’s universal power to heal, inspire, and connect people. The Clipse’s presence proved that hip-hop, too, has a seat at the global table of unity.
