A Charlotte teacher’s assistant has been suspended with pay after being charged with felony assault. Police received a response to come to the home around 10:49am on October 12th, according to WCNC Charlotte, who obtained the police report.
The victim had already been taken to the hospital with a serious neck injury when they arrived at the couple’s home. According to the police report, the couple got into an argument, which led to her stabbing her husband’s neck during an argument. The suspect, 44-year-old Chandraprabha Singh, claims it was an accident—stating she was preparing breakfast, turned around with the knife, and accidentally cut her husband’s neck.
Singh was arrested and charged with assault inflicting serious bodily injury on Oct. 12 and released on a $10K bond two days later. The victim suffered a serious neck injury and told officers that it wasn’t an accident and she intentionally stabbed him.
The Endhaven Elementary School employee is set to appear in court on Oct. 30th.
