Allen Media Group’s HBCU GO Announces 2025 Football Players of the Year: Curtis Allen and Michael Lunz II

Allen Media Group’s HBCU GO, the nation’s leading media platform dedicated to HBCU sports and culture, has officially announced the 2025 HBCU GO Football Players of the Year, recognizing the most outstanding offensive and defensive performers across HBCU football.

Earning this year’s top honors are Curtis Allen, running back at Virginia Union, who was named Offensive Player of the Year, and Michael Lunz II, linebacker from South Carolina State, who captured Defensive Player of the Year recognition.

Both athletes were selected by HBCU GO Sports analysts following exceptional seasons defined by consistency, leadership, and game-changing impact. Their performances and accolades were discussed during a special HBCU GO roundtable featuring Tolly Carr, Steve Wyche, Nia Symone, James Hadnot, and Lawrencia Moten, who evaluated the top contenders from across the HBCU football landscape.
