Hulu’s Freaknik Documentary Is A Must-See

The documentary provided in-depth knowledge of Freaknik hay days, how the name was derived, its replica of Daytona Beach’s spring break, and the original intended purpose of the popular Atlanta gathering.

The documentary also touched on its nationwide growing popularity: attracting celebrity attendants like Tupac and former NBA Player Jalen Rose, to name a few, and even its recognition on the popular Cosby Show spin-off, A Different World. The Freaknik also influences movies like School Daze, filmed by Morehouse graduate Spike Lee, based in Atlanta.

The Freaknik had its ups and downs with some of controversy surrounding Freaknik which causes its decline. In the late 1990s.
