In the Democratic primaries, opponent Jason House defeated Dolton’s mayor and Thornton Township supervisor, Tiffany Henyard, with a landslide victory of 3,360 votes. Henyard received 536 votes while House received 3,896 votes.
Henyard accepted the defeat, according to WGN-TV television station,l.
“The people have spoken,” Henyard told the station. “God must have a different plan.”

Dolton is a village located in Cook County, bordering the north of Chicago, and one off cities in Thornton Township.
Tiffany Henyard faced public scrutiny due to allegations of mishandling the village’s finances, abusing her power to retaliate against her past behavior, and her lack of transparency to the citizens of Dolton, prompting tension in board meetings.
One board meeting even led to a brawl between Heynard’s boyfriend and an activist after an activist expressed his displeasure for Heynard and called her a b*$!h, which made national attention and her getting in the fight.
Former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has hired her to investigate, finding that credit cards were used for unauthorized projects without board approval or competitive bidding processes.
