Tyler Perry Donates $250K in Visa Gift Cards to TSA Employees at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport

Tyler Perry showing love to TSA workers, donating $250,000 in Visa gift cards to TSA employees at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport.

His team returned to the airport with gift cards after previously attempting to hand out cash, which wasn’t allowed under federal guidelines. What began as a direct effort to help turned into a creative workaround, and it made a real impact.

According to 11Alive, sources say every envelope brought smiles, relief, and a much-needed morale boost. Perry also took time to personally thank workers and show appreciation for everything they’ve been enduring.

The gesture comes in the aftermath of the Department of Homeland Security shutdown, which left many TSA workers without pay for six weeks.

On Friday, Donald Trump signed an order declaring an “unprecedented emergency situation,” as airport disruptions mounted, allowing federal funds to be redirected so TSA staff could begin receiving paychecks as soon as possible.
