Kevin Faux, the man accused of killing 23-year-old pregnant woman Ashanti Allen, was recently arrested after fleeing to Gretna, Louisiana. Allen was reported missing on April 10th, and her body was later found on April 16th at Chimney Rock Park in southwest Houston.
The 24-year-old suspect was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service New Orleans Task Force. According to investigators, Faux used the victim’s debit card and made disturbing statements following the crime.
Investigators say Faux showed Allen’s body on FaceTime and sent a text message saying, “I’m a felon, then I killed a [expletive],” according to Click2Houston. No additional information has been released about who he was FaceTiming.

This is not the first incident involving Faux, as he was previously charged with the third-degree felony of “continuous violence against the family” after numerous assaults on the victim, who was pregnant at the time, in September 2025.
According to Houston Police Department, Faux was facing up to 20 years in prison for the September felony charge due to his previous two-year prison sentence in 2020 for aggravated assault.

On February 19, 2026, the charges were reduced from “continuous violence against the family” to the lesser included offense of “assault of a family member,” according to court documents reviewed by The Exclusive Press (EP), as part of a plea deal if he confessed if the September 2025 assault were true. In the plea agreement, he admitted the allegations were true, despite the original charge carrying a potential penalty of up to 20 years in prison. The felony charge was reduced to a Class A misdemeanor, and he was scheduled to serve 280 days in the Harris County Jail. Faux only served 142 days, beginning from his original sentence date of September 30, 2025, and was released early in February 19th. The plea deal between the state (the DA’s Office) and the defendant, Kevin Faux, was approved by Judge Lori Chambers Gray, as reviewed by The EP.

Approximately two months after being released from jail on a previous assault charge, Faux is now facing a capital murder charge in the death of Allen, who was eight months pregnant.
He remains in custody at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Louisiana until he is extradited to Texas.
