Master P’s upcoming biopic, Ice Cream Man, is officially on the way. The rap mogul, whose real name is Percy Miller, announced the news in a video clip of his interview with TMZ he shared on his social media platform.
“The Master P story people think they know, but they have no idea,” he told the outlet.
His son, Hercy Miller, will portray his father in the film.
“It’s always been a dream of mine to play my dad,” Hercy told TMZ.
Master P made it clear that nothing will be handed to his son, saying Hercy still has to go through the casting process to earn the role. Hercy said he’s okay with that – stating that he’s been studying old footage of his father to perfect his mannerisms.
Hercy previously appeared in an episode of Netflix’s Forever in which he played Aaron Goodman.

No announcement on the release date, but fans can follow Master P on social media for updates on the film.
Master P’a rags-to-riches journey started after receiving a $10,000 settlement following his grandfather’s death. The New Orleans native used the money to open a small record store, which later grew into No Limit Records. During the 1990s, he released major hits such as “Make ’Em Say Uhh!” and “I’m Bout It, Bout It.”

Master P later expanded his empire with a clothing line and helped develop the careers of artists including Silkk the Shocker, C-Murder, his son – Lil Romeo, and Mia X. He even signed rapper, Snoop Dogg, after he departed from Deathrow Records. He also produced films under the No Limit brand, including I Got the Hook-Up and I’m Bout It.
In addition to music and business, Master P pursued a basketball career and had preseason opportunities with NBA teams including the Charlotte Hornets and the Toronto Raptors, though he never played in a regular-season NBA game.
