According to Fox News 2 Detroit’s source to the White House, Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee and vice president, has reportedly chosen her running mate. The news outlet also reports that the unanimously selected individual has accepted the offer. Harris will announce her running companion via video on Tuesday, prior to her rally in Philadelphia that evening.
Harris’ interview list of potential candidates for the Vice President ticket, as reported by ABC News, includes Tim Walz (Governor of Minnesota), Josh Shapiro (Governor of Pennsylvania), Mark Kelly (Arizona Senator), Andy Beshear (Governor of Kentucky), J.B. Pritzker (Governor of Illinois), and Pete Buttigieg (Transportation Secretary).
After Harris announces her running companion, the two will embark on a campaign tour of six battleground states: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, and Wisconsin. These states have the potential to significantly influence the upcoming election.
Harris has experienced a significant increase in momentum since Biden withdrew from the race and nominated her on July 21st. Harris’ campaign announces that she has raised $310 million in her campaign and has hosted numerous virtual meetings for her supporters.
