More legal woos for Lil Durk. The Chicago raper, also known as Devontay Banks, has been linked to another murder case involving the 2022 death of Stephon Mack, an alleged gang leader, who was killed outside of a Chicago youth center, according to the Chicago Tribune.
In 2021, one of the Gangster Disciples street gang’s associates allegedly murdered Durk’s brother, Dontay Banks, leading to accusations that Durk orchestrated the shooting to exact revenge.
According to federal agents, Lil Durk offered to pay people to kill those responsible for his brother’s murder. The Tribune revealed an unsealed April 2023 warrant application on Wednesday, December 11, before Durk’s unrelated detention hearing today in California.
The Mack murder investigation, which is still open and active, has not charged Durk.
On October 17th, authorities arrested him near Miami International Airport for his involvement in a murder-for-hire scheme, which targeted fellow rapper Quando Rondo in West Hollywood, California, as a response to King Von’s 2020 killing. The ambush ultimately resulted in the death of Rondo’s cousin.
Durk faced charges including one count of conspiracy, one count of utilizing interstate facilities to commit murder-for-hire leading to death, and one count of using, carrying, and discharging firearms, including a machine gun, as well as possession of such firearms in connection with a violent crime resulting in death.
Durk has pleaded not guilty to the federal charges.
