LAPD Says D4vd is Not Listed as a Suspect in the Death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, as her Cause of Death Remains Undetermined

The Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed that musician D4vd is not currently listed as a suspect in the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose cause of death remains undetermined.

“As such, it remains unclear whether there is any criminal culpability beyond the concealment of her body,” the LAPD said in a statement obtained by Complex.

Hernandez’s dismembered body was discovered on September 8 inside a Tesla registered to the artist, located at an impound lot in California. She had been reported missing on April 5, 2024, and investigators believe her remains may have been inside the vehicle for several weeks before the discovery.

Authorities say the Tesla was initially parked near a Hollywood Hills mansion previously rented by D4vd before being towed to the lot. Following a police raid that recovered multiple pieces of evidence, the “Here With Me” singer reportedly ended his $20,000 lease and vacated the property.

According to KPRC Houston, D4vd—whose real name is David Anthony Burke—transferred ownership of two Texas homes to his mother in September amid the ongoing investigation.

Meanwhile, TMZ reports that police responded to 11 calls at Hernandez’s Lake Elsinore residence between February 2024 and April 2025, most of which were for minor incidents.

D4vd has remained silent and canceled all tour dates for his album Withered as the investigation continues.

Hernandez’s funeral was held on October 6 at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery and Mortuary in Rowland Heights, California.
