Trick Daddy Speaks Out After His Performance Was Cut Short at AKA South Atlantic Regional Conference

Trick Daddy is speaking out after news of his performance was cut short. The Miami rapper performed a set during the 73rd South Atlantic Regional Conference held earlier this week in Orlando, Florida. The Miami rapper’s microphone was prematurely cut off.

In response, the organization reportedly had strict guidelines against inappropriate language, clothing, and specific songs, which Trick Daddy did not follow. During one point of the set, he blurted out, “If you want your (expletive) ate, put your (expletive) hands up.” The committee for the event reportedly met with the rapper several times before his set to ensure that requirements were met.

“Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.®, South Atlantic Region, contracted with Trick Daddy, a rapper from Miami, to perform a selected list of songs after our Step and Stroll Competition on Friday night. We met several times with him and his team to detail our requirements, including attire, language and specific songs. Unfortunately, our requirements were ignored,” South Atlantic Regional Director of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Tiffany Moore Russell said in a statement.

“The language, the lyrics, and the comments made by the artist were not acceptable. I ended the performance because of the disrespect for our organization and for our brand,” she added.

Trick Daddy responded to the claims in an Instagram Live stream, accusing the organization of defaming his character.

“No disrespect to the AKA’s, the most highly respected. Some of the most beautiful, attractive and successful women that I know are AKAs,” he said. “So, no disrespect to y’all, but this is to y’all regional director who got me totally (expletive) up.”

He went on to question why the organization’s committee and attendees were surprised by the material he performed.

“So, I’m performing for the AKAs and yeah, I do ‘Jump on It’. That’s one of my records,” he continued. “You should have known that when y’all booked me. But don’t put out no statement talking about you gave me a playlist. This ain’t your wedding.”

Trick Daddy also demanded the remainder of his payment for the performance, claiming he provided a “discount.”
