Prince George’s County, MD – December 4, 2025 – Sheriff John D.B. Carr officially announced his campaign for a second term as Prince George’s County Sheriff at a celebratory event on Thursday, December 4th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Sauciety Restaurant, National Harbor. County Executive Aisha Braveboy joined Sheriff Carr in marking this important milestone.
During his first term, Sheriff Carr has focused on enhancing public safety and community engagement. Key accomplishments include expanding mental health support services, strengthening domestic violence enforcement, reducing outstanding warrants for violent offenders, and increasing transparency through initiatives such as the Citizens Academy and the Behind the Badge podcast.
If re-elected, Sheriff Carr plans to continue building strong community relationships while advancing programs that make a tangible impact. His priorities include expanding youth mentorship and literacy programs, launching additional anti-violence initiatives, enhancing community outreach, and continuing efforts to strengthen public trust.
The re-election campaign will be led by Sean Michael Wilson, who brings over 15 years of experience in political, government, and communications work.
