Miles Bridges Granted Temporary Restraining Order Against Ex-Girlfriend Amid Tire Tampering, Fake Pregnancy Trick, and Cyberstalking Allegations

A Mecklenburg County judge granted a temporary restraining order for Miles Bridges.

Bridges filed an emergency motion through his attorney, Sean Lindsey, on April 8 against his ex-girlfriend, Mychelle Johnson, according to court records obtained by The Exclusive Press (EP).

According to the motion, Johnson, who was allegedly intoxicated, booked a room at the Omni Charlotte Hotel near the Spectrum Center (the Hornets’ home arena) and allegedly tampered with Bridges’ tires while he was playing against the Memphis Grizzlies on his birthday, March 21st.

The motion claims someone spotted Johnson in the parking garage before she allegedly ran from security. Police responded but reportedly found no visible damage to the vehicle.

The filing also alleges Johnson threatened to release nude photos of Bridges, impersonated a fictitious woman to communicate threats against him, and fabricated a paternity claim to arrange a paternity test through his attorney before allegedly launching a cyberbullying campaign and posting the exchange on Instagram.

According to the motion, Johnson displayed “paranoid and obsessive behavior” regarding the father’s romantic relationship with his current girlfriend, Shara Bowden, including making unfounded accusations and allowing her personal animosity toward the father’s significant other to override the best interests of the minor children. Bridges also requested that the court order Johnson to undergo a psychological evaluation based on this alleged pattern of conduct.

The April 14th order, obtained by EP, states that Johnson cannot contact Bridges or Bowden, stalk or cyberstalk them, or come within 500 feet of his home, Hornets facilities, team hotels, or hotels during road games and team-related trips.

Communication regarding their children is still being conducted through the third-party platform OurFamilyWizard. Bridges is also seeking sole custody of their four children: Ace Miles Bridges (7), Ayla Marie Bridges (5), Akari Maki Bridges (2), and Ashiya Mychelle Johnson-Bridges (9 months).

In 2022, Bridges faced up to 11 years and eight months in prison under California law in a domestic violence case involving Johnson. However, he accepted a plea deal in November 2022 that involved no jail time. The incident led to a 30-game suspension during the 2022–2023 NBA season.

Bridges was required to serve three years of probation, complete 52 weeks of domestic violence counseling and parenting classes, perform 100 hours of community service, and undergo weekly narcotics testing. He was also prohibited from owning guns, ammunition, or weapons. In addition, he was ordered to pay restitution and domestic violence fines and comply with a 10-year protective order requiring him to stay 100 yards away from and have no contact with Johnson.

Johnson has not been charged with a crime. Her attorney said she plans to respond next week. A hearing is scheduled for June 15th.
