J. Cole’s video shoot, originally scheduled for Sunday, March 23rd, in his hometown, was cancelled.
City View, Fayetteville, NC-based News publication, reported the news of the 40-year-old rapper shooting a video in downtown Fayetteville, NC, from 4pm to 8:30pm.

However, the City of Fayetteville government’s Facebook page reports that the applicant canceled the video shoot after it received approval. On March 18, a special permit application was submitted to the city, seeking street closures and police presence around the Market House in downtown.

The city explain on its social media that the non-city-sponsored event was canceled due to unforeseen circumstances. No word as to specifically canceled the video shoot.
“Fayetteville is open for business, and we sincerely appreciate the interest and enthusiasm from our community and beyond,” the statement reads from the city of Fayetteville.
“We look forward to future opportunities and thank everyone for their understanding and continued support.”
Cole, whose real name is Jermaine Cole, last shot a basketball-themed commercial in his hometown titled “The DREAMER” for Puma five years ago, which will air during Sunday’s NBA All-Star game on TNT.
