Minneapolis, MN – Authorities have identified 23-year-old Robin Westman as the suspect behind Wednesday’s tragic mass shooting at Annunciation Catholic School, an attack that has devastated the community and left two children dead and more than a dozen others injured.
Westman, a former student of the school, opened fire just outside a church on campus before taking her own life. Investigators say they are treating the case as both domestic terrorism and an anti-Catholic hate crime.
According to officials, Westman’s mother had worked at Annunciation Catholic School until her retirement in 2021.
Online activity linked to Westman reveals troubling signs in the months leading up to the shooting. She had shared disturbing videos and writings that displayed weapons, expressed hateful messages, and included a manifesto filled with despair and admiration for past mass shooters.
Though she legally changed her name in 2020 and did not have a serious criminal record, former classmates recall warning signs as far back as middle school, describing troubling behavior that stood out even then.
