Slutty Vegan Food Truck Is Making Its Tour Stop To Charlotte from November 22nd to 24th

Slutty Vegan is coming to the Queen City again. The Atlanta-based restaurant will set up shops at Camp North End’s Boileryard at 1824 Statesville Ave, Charlotte, NC 28206, from November 22, 2024, to November 24, 2024, from 1 pm to 6 pm. Camp North End is Charlotte’s famous food, art, shopping, living space, and entertainment hub. Slutty Vegan had previously set up their food truck in Charlotte in February 2020 and in June 2022.

The news was announced on the restaurant’s Instagram page on November 5, 2024 (Election Day), with a map of the United States with a food truck pinned on the state of North Carolina. The restaurant also made a follow-up post on November 7th, with North Carolina’s unofficial anthem song, Petey Pablo’s Raise-Up, playing in the background.

The announcement comes four months after the restaurant posted a message on Instagram on July 7th announcing its intentions to do a residency in the city and requesting the public’s help to secure a location. Ten days after the post, on July 17th, the restaurant expressed its desire to host a residency in Queen City, but the date wasn’t solidified then.

Although the tour will be in the city for two days, the popular black-owned restaurant teases the idea of bringing a permanent location to Queen City. According to a post on November 18, 2024, Slutty Vegan is hosting a free meal giveaway for one lucky winner (and their boo) if the lucky winner tells them why they should bring a Slutty Vegan franchise to the city permanently.

Since its establishment in July 2018, the Atlanta-based restaurant, founded by 36-year-old Aisha ‘Pinky’ Cole, has experienced remarkable success in its six years. The restaurant is widespread throughout the Atlanta region, with locations in Georgia including Duluth, Jonesboro, Georgia Tech, Spelman, Atlanta Braves Stadium, and Atlanta’s Ralph David & Edgewood neighborhood.

According to an October 2023 article in Aftrotech, the business is valued at $100 million. It has branched into various cities beyond the Atlanta metro area, with brick-and-mortar establishments in Birmingham, AL, Brooklyn, Harlem, NY, and Dallas, Texas. The franchise plans to open a new one in Baltimore and is getting fans involved in their request for other cities to venture into.

In recent years, Slutty Vegan have expanded their brand in other cities throughout the United States by hosting residency and tour stops for other fans to get a taste of their delicacy food. This year, Slutty Vegan has hosted a 30-day residency in Los Angeles and Nashville. The black-owned restaurant has also embarked on tours in cities such as Chicago, Jacksonville, FL, Cincinnati, and Tulsa, OK.

In a remarkable achievement, six years after its inception, Slutty Vegan has expanded their brand to greater heights by selling merchandise, setting a future location at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, and collaborating with Angela Simmons’ daughter, the iconic Rev Run of Run DMC, to bring vegan fried Oreos treats to specific Slutty Vegan establishments.

Charlotte is not the only city the restaurant made a tour stop. Last month, the restaurant set up their food truck in Asheville, NC, to serve the citizens in the aftermath of the city’s brutal hit by Hurricane Helene. Additionally, the restaurant expressed interest in coming to Raleigh via an Instagram post on November 8.

The restaurant is looking for a tour spot location with the public’s help, expressing interest in church parking lots, restaurant parking lots, or event center spaces.
