Cole World in Full Effect – J. Cole’s “Might Delete Later” Kicks Off Before His Dreamville Festival

Rapper J. Cole is the king when it comes to unexpectedly releasing albums and working cleverly behind the scenes. Before his Dreamville festival, he released his new album, “Might Delete Later,” on April 5th. The album features the following artists: Ari Lennox, Gucci Mane, Young Dro, Cam’ron, Bas, and Central Cee, to name a few. 

The album even includes “7 Minute Drill,” in which he appears to respond to Kendrick Lamar’s diss track “Like That,” featuring Future and Metro Boomin, which takes aim at the 39-year-old rapper.

In “7 Minute Drill,” Cole alluded to hearing about Lamar’s diss, rapping, “I got a phone call; they say that somebody dissing. You want some attention? It comes with extensions.”

“He still doing shows but fell off like ‘The Simpsons,” he continues, adding that Lamar’s first album was “classic” and his latest was “tragic.” Cole added in the song that Lamar is now past his “prime” while he “just now hit mine.”

It has been a busy week for the North Carolina rapper as his Dreamville Festival kicks off today and on April 7th in Raleigh. The tour will feature appearances from 50 Cent, Monica, Nicki Minaji, Rae Sremmurd, and many more. In addition to his tour, famous New York street artist, Andaluz the Artist, known for his iconic street murals, Kobe and Gigi Bryant mural, PBS’ Bob Ross mural painted a beautiful mural of J. Cole in his hometown, Fayetteville, NC.
